The legendary Stevie Wonder brought his brilliance and a blazing set of classics to BST Hyde Park 2025.

Crowning a stacked lineup, which included performances from the likes of Ezra Collective, Durand Bernarr, Corinne Bailey Rae, Elmiene, and Mica Miller, the icon delivered a showing befitting of his status as one of music’s most revered royals.

Hitting the stage to rapturous applause from the 65,000 in attendance, Wonder seized the moment to make his unifying agenda clear. Before singing a single note, he shared:

“We’ve been through the hate, [but] love is far bigger. We need — in a time when this planet is too angry — light. So, I want to start off with a song off that you would by now know.”

Armed with his buoyant band, which included many of his children, the icon aptly launched into ‘Love’s In Need of Love Today’ and followed with a nod to John Lennon with a stirring cover of ‘Imagine.’ The face of the late Beatles singer appeared on Wonder’s bejeweled jacket alongside Marvin Gaye. Two names who also championed the need for unity in their brief but impactful lives.

Steadfast in his stance of promoting peace, the 75-year-old Detroit native eschewed any notion of preaching and instead paired his powerful lyrics and vocal delivery with a charismatic charm, warmth, and wit that served as the show’s central engine.

Indeed, fiery showings of anthems such as ‘Superstition,’ ‘Master Blaster (Jammin),’ and ‘Higher Ground’ were preceded and followed by Wonder’s engaging anecdotes. A duality that saw Hyde Park singing and laughing in equal measure.

That Grape Juice braced for a climactic showing of ‘Do I Do,’ which did not form part of the set. Yet it is impossible to fault a showing that saw London also serenaded with the likes of ‘Sir Duke,’ ‘My Cherie Amour,’ and ‘I Just Called To Say I Love You.’

A family affair, the father of nine saluted his beloved children during the length and breadth of the show. From spotlighting his son Kailand Morris, who performed ‘I Can Only Be Me,’ to belting ‘Happy Birthday’ to his daughter Zaiah Morris, who turned 13, to sharing the stage with his eldest, Aisha Morris.

During the show, a particularly touching moment saw Aisha (a seasoned vocalist in her own right) wipe a tear from her eye while the Morris patriarch performed ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ – the 1976 smash he wrote in honor of her birth.

For many, “Stevie Wonder” continues to serve as a musical father, an inspiration, and a defining blueprint for millions. However, it was apparent, over the course of the set, that the status he wears with most pride is simply “dad.”

Aptly forming part of the ‘Love, Light & Song Tour,’ Wonder shone at his BST Hyde Park show with a talent,  zeal, and hit list that are ever-enduring.
