The murder case against D4vd is officially heading to trial.

A Los Angeles judge has ruled that prosecutors presented enough evidence for the singer to face a jury over the killing and dismemberment of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Judge Charlaine Olmedo delivered the ruling at the close of a five-day preliminary hearing, declaring:

“The people have met their burden on all counts.”

D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, has pleaded not guilty and will remain jailed without bail as the closely watched case progresses.

The hearing saw prosecutors present graphic crime scene photographs, forensic evidence, and details surrounding the discovery of Rivas Hernandez’s dismembered remains inside the front trunk of Burke’s Tesla.

As previously reported, messages shown in court indicated the teen became pregnant and underwent an abortion during their alleged relationship. Prosecutors also claimed she threatened to expose Burke before her death.

Other testimony revealed that 11 air fresheners were discovered inside the Tesla, while authorities alleged that Burke purchased cadaver bags, a shovel, and chainsaws after the killing.

The 21-year-old faces first-degree murder, child sexual abuse, and mutilation charges. Prosecutors have not yet decided whether to seek the death penalty. His next arraignment is scheduled for August 31.
