Cardi B Speaks Out After Karmelo Anthony’s 35-Year Sentence: “This Isn’t Justice; They’re Trying to Make an Example”

Cardi B isn’t one to stay quiet when it comes to civil issues, and this time she is speaking out following the Karmelo Anthony case that has taken the internet by storm.

Full story below.

In a case that millions have watched, Cardi is speaking following the verdict of Karmelo Anthony, a teenager who was recently convicted of murder for stabbing a fellow teen – Austin Metcalf – in an altercation that cost the latter his life.

Anthony’s lawyer argued during the trial that he was defending himself in the argument that turned deadly. Still, the all-White jury didn’t take his side of the story, further convicting him of murder.

Karmelo Anthony was sentenced to 35 years in prison for his involvement in the death of Metcalf.

Cardi shared her thoughts:

“Wow! Just freakin wow! DISGUSTING… This is not justice, this is trying to make an example!!!”

This case has been buzzing online for its implications of racial injustice in the courts, from jury selection to the evidence presented.

It’s safe to say Cardi is using her platform to speak out against this latest ruling while Karmelo’s legal team is fighting the conviction and has filed a motion to appeal in Collin County in Texas.
