Kanye West has hit a major roadblock ahead of his planned return to the UK stage.

The polarizing rapper, now known as Ye, has reportedly been denied entry into the country just months before his scheduled headline performance at London’s Wireless Festival.

The development follows mounting backlash surrounding his inclusion on the bill, with tensions bubbling across both the public and political arenas.

According to reports, UK authorities have refused the entertainer’s Electronic Travel Authorisation, citing that his presence is “not conducive to the public good.” The decision lands amid widespread criticism tied to his past antisemitic remarks, which have sparked global outrage over the past year.

The situation had already intensified in recent days, with Jewish groups voicing strong opposition to his Wireless booking. The controversy even reached the upper levels of government, with Prime Minister Keir Starmer reportedly expressing concern about the booking as officials weighed whether he should be allowed entry.

In response, the Chicago native issued a statement attempting to strike a more conciliatory tone.

“My only goal is to come to London and present a show of change, bringing unity, peace, and love through my music. I know words aren’t enough – I’ll have to show change through my actions. If you’re open, I’m here.”

Despite that, the fallout has continued. Major sponsors, including Pepsi and Diageo, have already distanced themselves from the festival, while organizer Melvin Benn has urged critics to consider forgiveness.

The denial also echoes previous international pushback, including a reported visa refusal in Australia last year following the release of one of his most controversial tracks.

As of now, it remains unclear how the situation will impact Wireless Festival’s lineup as the summer event approaches.
