As excitement surrounding blockbuster biopic ‘Michael’ continues to sweep theaters globally, the King of Pop is seeing two of his most iconic releases dominate the upper tier of the chart simultaneously.

Jackson’s classic album ‘Thriller’ holds steady at #5 with 66,000 equivalent album units earned this week, marking a 6% increase. Right behind it is compilation set ‘Number Ones,’ which remains planted at #6 with more than 65,000 units moved, also up 6%.

Both projects have been benefiting heavily from renewed interest sparked by the Jaafar Jackson-led film, which recently crossed the $700 million mark globally and has become one of the biggest music biopics in box office history.

The latest Billboard 200 showing extends an already historic run for the King of Pop.

As reported, ‘Number Ones’ recently scored its first-ever top 10 placement on the chart under modern Billboard rules, while Jackson also became just the fifth act ever to earn top 10 albums across every decade since the 1970s.

The renewed momentum has also stretched internationally, with ‘The Essential Michael Jackson’ recently enjoying a major resurgence on the UK charts as well.
