A growing list of Black celebrities who have become supporters of President Trump

From Todd Gurley to Amber Rose to Mike Tyson, and more the list of famous Black supporters keeps growing.
When former NFL player Todd Gurley traveled to Georgia last week, he did so via Air Force One accompanied by President Donald Trump.
On Friday, Oct. 16, after a photo op at the White House, the 32-year-old former Rams player and Trump traveled to the state to attend a rally in Dalton to bolster support for the Republican Party ahead of next month’s 2026 midterms.
After the president praised the retired running back, calling him handsome, “a legendary University of Georgia running back,” and speculating that he still “looks good” enough to still be playing, Gurley kept his remarks brief.
“Go Dawgs!” the former player called out, referring to his days as a star in the 2010s for the University of Georgia Bulldogs.
“I want to thank President Trump today for the experience being on Air Force One, welcoming me into the White House,” he continued. “Thank you so much. Thank you to the state of Georgia for everything y’all done to me. And go Dawgs!”
During the appearance, which also included time for a quick selfie with Republican Senate nominee Mike Collins, Gurley did not espouse any grand support or go so far as to endorse the president. However, his appearance has raised concern among fans, many of whom have expressed their discontent in the comments on his latest social media posts across his platforms. The backlash is partly because this appearance has arrived after the whiplash that has been felt by many a Black public figure—whether they be a top female rapper, an infamous former athlete, a boxer who goes back with the man since before the White House ever met him—who have accepted offers to meet and perform with him, defended certain moves the president has made, toyed with the apolitical line or straight up made hard pivots and pledged their support.
Building on a list we released before, below we round up 10 Black celebrities who have either pledged their support, flirted with the concept, or toyed with the line, as the list seems to keep growing.
Nicki Minaj

After coming to President Donald Trump’s defense against online bullies in late 2025, Nicki Minaj took her surprising show of support front and center when she appeared alongside him at the Trump Accounts Summit on January 28, where she pledged hundreds of thousands of dollars toward children’s investment accounts and declared herself his “number one fan.” Since then, the rapper has only grown more involved with his administration, from encouraging young Americans to vote Republican in the midterms to judging a White House small-business competition in October, where Trump reportedly called her his “favorite.”
Snoop Dogg

Few have forgotten when Snoop Dogg accepted an invitation to perform at the Crypto Ball, a celebration held in Washington, D.C., ahead of President Donald Trump’s second inauguration in January 2025. While the rapper has maintained that the performance was not an endorsement of Trump, the change of tune was certainly noticed by fans who remembered his years of openly criticizing the Republican leader, including once threatening to roast any Black artist who performed at his first inauguration in 2017.
Nick Cannon

During a March 2026 episode of his web series “Big Drive,” Nick Cannon revealed to fellow Trump supporter Amber Rose that “I f–ks with Trump,” praising the president for “cleaning house” and following through on his promises. Cannon raised eyebrows further when he claimed Democrats were the party of the Ku Klux Klan and Republicans were responsible for freeing enslaved people, an often-touted, historically misleading argument that sorely overlooks the major political realignments of the 20th century.
Waka Flocka

Despite once declaring “F–k Donald J. Trump,” Waka Flocka Flame has been riding for the president since at least 2023, when he publicly endorsed his reelection campaign with a simple “TRUMP2024” post on X and changed his profile picture to an image of the two together. Since then, he’s only doubled down on his support when he performed at the MAGA in the Air concert in Washington, D.C., in February 2026, and a month later declared that while Trump’s approach might be harsh, it “always end with grace.” However, his support may just start and stop with talking about the President, as he revealed earlier this year that he’s never actually voted in an election.
Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne’s support for Donald Trump goes back to at least 2020, when he posed for a photo with the then-president and praised his proposed economic plan for Black Americans, just months before receiving a presidential pardon that spared him a potential 10-year prison sentence on federal gun charges. Since then, despite attempts to clarify whether he endorses the Republican leader or not, the New Orleans rapper has remained relatively supportive of Trump on certain issues, including during a July 2026 appearance on the “Friends Keep Secrets” podcast, when he defended Trump’s controversial plans to build a White House ballroom.
Mike Tyson

Now, for some on this list, their relationship with Trump goes way back. We’re talking like all the way to the 1980s, like Mike Tyson, whose fights the future president hosted at his Atlantic City casinos and who even counted Trump among his business advisers. The former heavyweight champion first threw his support behind Trump’s political ambitions in 2015, when he endorsed his first presidential campaign, and has remained a vocal supporter ever since, most recently accompanying him to a campaign rally in Syracuse, New York, this month, just one day after revealing he had delivered a letter to the president on behalf of Sean “Diddy” Combs, who has been seeking a pardon… chile!
Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Like Tyson, fellow boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s relationship with Donald Trump predates his political career, with the future president attending his blockbuster 2015 fight against Manny Pacquiao and the undefeated champion later attending Trump’s first inauguration in 2017. Since then, Mayweather has remained a vocal supporter, even calling Trump the best president America has ever had, and most recently joined him at an October 14 rally in Arizona, where he declared that Americans “couldn’t have chosen a better president twice.”
Amber Rose

One of the more surprising pivots to President Donald Trump remains Amber Rose. The model, reality TV personality, and longtime women’s rights advocate, who once called Trump an “idiot” and openly opposed his first presidential campaign, shocked many when she declared her support for him in May 2024, posting a photo online with Trump and his wife, Melania, alongside the caption “Trump 2024.” Since then, Rose has gone full MAGA, delivering a speech at the 2024 Republican National Convention, where she declared she’d found her people.
Kanye West

Now, Kanye West, who has even run for president himself, has been many things over the years, including a vocal Donald Trump supporter. Few have forgotten his infamous red MAGA hat, his bizarre 2018 Oval Office visit, during which he declared the hat made him feel like Superman, or the many public declarations of support that followed, even as his relationship with Trump grew increasingly complicated. While West reaffirmed his allegiance during the 2024 election, declaring “It’s Trump all day,” whether he remains a supporter today is anyone’s guess.
Dennis Rodman

Dennis Rodman’s side quest in international diplomacy remains one of life’s more fascinating plot twists. The former NBA star, who has famously considered North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un among his friends, also has a longstanding relationship with Donald Trump dating back to his appearances on “The Celebrity Apprentice” in 2009, making his 2015 endorsement of Trump’s first presidential campaign perhaps less surprising than some of the other names on this list. Still, Rodman’s unusual friendships continue to fascinate and confuse, especially after he accompanied Trump to campaign stops in Texas and Oklahoma earlier this month, amid speculation that the president hopes to enlist his help in reopening diplomatic talks with North Korea.
