Will Smith is at risk of being pulled into the increasingly heated legal battle between Jada Pinkett Smith and his former friend, Bilaal Salaam.

After previously moving to question Jada under oath, Salaam is now seeking a deposition from the Oscar winner as his $3 million lawsuit moves forward.

According to TMZ, Salaam emailed Jada’s legal team on July 7 to request that Will sit for questioning.

However, the actress’ attorneys swiftly rejected the proposal.

“As for your proposed deposition of Will Smith, there is nothing to meet and confer about.”

Her legal team maintains that Will is not a party to the case and has not been served with a subpoena requiring him to testify.

The email surfaced after Jada included it in a separate motion seeking to force Salaam to hand over additional evidence. Her attorneys allege that he has yet to produce medical records supporting the emotional distress cited in his complaint.

As previously reported, Salaam sued Jada after alleging that she threatened him and later retaliated when he refused to assist with damage control following Will’s 2022 Oscars slap. He also claims tensions intensified after she learned of his planned memoir.

Jada has denied the allegations. Several of Salaam’s claims have since been dismissed, with the court ordering him to pay more than $32,000 toward her legal fees. The remaining dispute continues.
