Whitney Houston has officially joined the Barbie universe.

On what would have been The Voice’s 63rd birthday, Mattel has unveiled the first-ever Whitney Houston Barbie, immortalizing one of the late legend’s most recognizable looks.

Created in collaboration with Houston’s estate, the Barbie Signature doll recreates her colorful look from the 1987 video for ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me).’

The doll arrives decades after Houston herself first explored the possibility of working with Mattel.

Estate executor Pat Houston told PEOPLE that discussions began roughly 20 years ago, with the superstar initially interested in a doll celebrating ‘The Bodyguard.’

“I’m just really happy that we’re seeing this doll come to fruition.”

The collectible was unveiled during the fifth annual Legacy of Love Gala, which Babyface was tapped to headline.

Interestingly, the celebration comes as fans have been debating another handling of Houston’s legacy. More than 50 pieces from her archives, including stage-worn fashions and personal keepsakes, are heading to a separate Julien’s Auctions sale on August 11, prompting some to question whether the diva’s prized possessions should remain together.

However, 100% of proceeds from the charity auction will benefit the Whitney E. Houston Legacy Foundation.

The Barbie arrives during a milestone period for Houston’s legacy, which has also included a posthumous GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award.
