The 45-year-old legend stunned the crowd at the Washington Open after defeating world No.35 Peyton Stearns.

The victory makes Williams the second-oldest woman to snag a WTA Tour-level singles win, trailing only Martina Navratilova, who did it at 47 back in 2004.
Entering as a wildcard, the seven-time Grand Slam singles champ showed no signs of slowing down despite a 16-month break from the tour. Venus declared post-match that:
“I have nothing to prove. Zip. Zero. I’m here for me because I want to be here. And proving anyone wrong or thinking about anyone has never gotten me a win and has never gotten me a loss.”
The former world #1 now advances to face Poland’s Magdalena Frech in the second round. With her powerful serve delivering heat, one thing’s sure: Venus is not done dominating.
