Tyra Banks is fighting back.

The media mogul has launched a bombshell lawsuit against Netflix, alleging the streamer misrepresented her in its controversial docuseries ‘Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model.’

According to court documents, Banks claims more than three hours of interview footage was reduced to just 16 minutes and edited in a way that created what she describes as a “false and defamatory narrative.”

The media maven alleges key moments in which she accepted accountability for aspects of the long-running reality competition were omitted from the final cut.

“The story that viewers heard was the deceptive story producers chose to tell.”

Among the central issues raised in the lawsuit are the documentary’s handling of former contestant Shandi Sullivan‘s allegations surrounding an incident during Cycle 2, as well as suggestions that Banks failed to support former judge Miss J. Alexander following his 2022 stroke.

Banks contends she was never informed of certain claims made by interview subjects and therefore was not given an opportunity to respond on camera. The suit also alleges that footage was selectively edited to imply she had forgotten details surrounding Sullivan’s experience.

The model and entrepreneur is seeking damages for alleged reputational harm, emotional distress, and lost business opportunities. As of writing, Netflix has not publicly responded to the lawsuit.

Suffice it to say, the drama is continuing beyond the screen.
