Tyla has finally addressed claims that she lifted the idea for ‘Chanel’ from Yung Miami, and the star appears keen to cool the conversation rather than reignite it.

Amid the promotional run for her newly released sophomore album ‘A*POP,’ the South African singer joined Quen Blackwell on ‘Feeding Starving Celebrities,’ where she was bluntly asked whether she “stole” the song from Caresha.

Her answer was emphatic, but also surprisingly understanding of Miami’s position.

As reported, the former City Girls rapper alleged that she played Tyla her unreleased track ‘Take Me to Chanel’ before the GRAMMY winner issued her own similarly themed song.

Tyla Responds to the ‘Chanel’ Claims

Addressing the situation publicly for the first time, Tyla explained:

“No! But can I tell you actually why it’s funny? Because I was just like, ‘Damn,’ when I saw the tweets. I was like, ‘I think this is about me. Is this about me?’

Like, honestly, because I remember we were in this room, but everyone was partying, and she played like 20 songs.

And then months later, Bibi, we became good friends. She’s a writer, and she sent me ‘Chanel.’ So she already made, like, the vibe, the concept, and she’s like, ‘Do you like the song?’ I was like, ‘Yeah.’

And it’s so long after, I’m not thinking about Caresha. But I get it, because it’s happened to me before, where I felt like, ‘Damn, I played this for someone, and why does this sound similar to my song?’

But no, that’s weird. I would never do that. Like, girl, you think I’m trying to ruin my career? No, I would never do that.

And she’s cool. Like, ‘Spend Dat.’ ‘Spend that sh*t, spend that sh*t.'”

Indeed, Tyla punctuated her denial by dancing to Miami’s smash ‘Spend Dat,’ placing a playful and positive bow on the candid exchange.
