T.I. is looking back on one of his biggest controversies.

As reported, the MC generated widespread outrage in 2019 when he said on the Ladies Like Us podcast that he took his then-18-year-old daughter to the gynecologist for “yearly trips to check her hymen”.

The episode was later deleted.

T.I. apologized for the comments on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk, claiming he had “embellished and exaggerated”.

In the new interview with PEOPLE, he said:

“I’ve learned not to do as much talking as I do listening. That sucked.”

He added that the controversy played out in real time while his family was filming T.I. and Tiny: Friends and Family Hustle. By the time the season aired, they had to relive the drama.

Despite the ordeal, T.I. views the reality show as a “photo album” for his family. He can look back on memories of his children when they were younger.
