Tyga is stepping into a bold new creative era.

The chart-topping rapper has unveiled the self-titled debut album from $TARFACE, his original alter ego inspired by the music, fashion, and cinematic flair of the early 1980s.

Spanning 10 tracks, the project fuses Pop, R&B, Synth-wave, Funk, Soul, and Dance influences into a nostalgic soundscape.

Speaking on the new album, Tyga said:

“‘$TARFACE’ gave me the freedom to make the music I’ve always loved. I wanted every song and every visual to feel like it came straight out of the early ‘80’s, where the music, the fashion and the storytelling all carried a sense of soul and real depth. This album is about finally bringing this vision to life.”

Arriving alongside the project is the visual for the focus single ‘FREEZING,’ which follows the release of earlier singles ‘AFFECTION‘ and ‘GAVE YOU RACKS‘

The ambitious concept was born during development of Tyga’s upcoming film ‘Baby, You’re a Star.’

What’s more, $TARFACE marks a fresh artistic direction, the rapper also has a new Rap LP and an Afrobeats-inspired project waiting in the wings.
