Chance The Rapper is back with his long-awaited new album ‘STAR LINE’ and its bringing the party.

The Chicago native officially released the LP today (August 15), marking his first full-length project since 2019’s ‘The Big Day.’

Inspired by trips to Ghana and Jamaica, plus time spent immersed in global art fairs. The album’s title nods to Marcus Garvey’s early 20th-century Black Star Line. The historic shipping line was created to connect the Americas, the Caribbean, and Africa. Much like Garvey’s vision, ‘Star Line’ is about unity, pride, and the richness of the Black experience.

This is a love letter to Chicago, a meditation on Black resilience. Also, a candid self-portrait of Chance as an artist, son, father, and cultural architect.

Executive produced by DexLvL, the album features a powerhouse guest list: Joey BadA$$, Lil Wayne, Smino, Vic Mensa, BJ the Chicago Kid, Young Thug, TiaCorine, Jamila Woods, Do or Die, Babychiefdoit, Jay Electronica, Lion Babe, Jazmine Sullivan, and Raachel Robinson. Production assists from Peter CottonTale, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Stix, Smoko Ono, Nate Fox, and Nico Segal ensure a rich, multi-layered soundscape.

Speaking on the record, Chance said:

“This album is a culmination of my travels, my experiences, and my deep dive into the history that connects us all, It’s about legacy, the resilience of Black people, and the beautiful, complex story of our existence. From Chicago to Accra, this is my art, unfiltered. Star Line is a vessel for that story, and I’m thrilled that everyone can finally get on board.”

To celebrate the drop, the rapper will hit the road for the ‘And We Back Tour’ this fall, starting September 26, 2025, and making stops in Houston, Atlanta, New York, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, and more. Tickets are on sale now.
