Sabrina Washington has broken her silence on the drama engulfing Mis-Teeq.

Appearing on ‘Good Morning Britain’ this morning (September 24), the singer defiantly denied that she had split the group or blindsided bandmates Alesha Dixon and Su-Elise Nash.

Her comments arrive after a dramatic few days that saw Washington announce a solo tour, her camp declare that there were no further Mis-Teeq dates or new music planned, and Nash publicly insist that news of a “split” was exactly that to her: news.

Now, Washington is setting out her side.

Washington’s appearance comes just days after her ‘A One Night Stand Just Ain’t Enough Tour’ was announced following the group’s sold-out 25th anniversary show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley.

At the time, a release issued to media fromWashington’s camp stated that she, Dixon, and Nash had “decided not to continue with further Mis-Teeq dates,” while also confirming that no further group concerts or new music were planned.

That prompted Nash to publicly challenge the announcement, saying she believed the trio were still considering major 2027 offers, including festival appearances and taking their reunion show around the UK.

Quizzed about the fallout by hosts Susanna Reid and Tom Swarbrick, Washington emphatically pushed back against the suggestion that she had declared Mis-Teeq over.

“I have not said split in any way, shape or form. That has not come from me.”

Explaining her understanding of where matters stood after Wembley, the 47-year-old continued:

“We had an amazing show for our anniversary, which was filled with love, filled with good energy and there was nothing planned. There has been nothing else planned after that.”

Crucially, Washington stressed that embarking on her own tour should not be interpreted as her permanently closing the door on the group.

“I would never say no to another Mis-Teeq show ever, because I have never ever said no to a Mis-Teeq show. I love the girls.”

Continuing, she said:

“So it may still be something that could happen because I’ve never said no and I’ve never said split.”

Sabrina Washington Responds to Mis-Teeq Statement

When Reid noted reports that Dixon and Nash had been shocked by the apparent end of the comeback, Washington pointed back to the original premise of the reunion.

“Remember, we got together for a ‘One Night Stand’ for our 25th anniversary. It was only ever one night.”

The exchange became notably more pointed when Swarbrick read out a statement from a Mis-Teeq representative alleging that “Sabrina and her team issued a press release to media saying ‘Mis-Teeq Split'” without informing Dixon, Nash, or the group’s wider team.

Washington immediately fired back:

“Wrong! That’s what I’m saying. I didn’t do a press release at all. I’ve not said anything about the girls and the group. I don’t do that.”

Speaking emphatically and referring to herself in the third person, she added:

“Sabrina doesn’t talk. She’s a person that doesn’t really talk. Sabrina, this Sabrina sitting down here, the one in Mis-Teeq, I don’t talk like that.”

Washington also maintained that there was no personal issue with Dixon, revealing that the pair had spoken and claiming her bandmate “congratulated” her on the solo shows.

As for Nash, she explained that the singer is currently in Australia and said the ladies are not in constant communication.

When Reid observed that the entire situation sounded somewhat… well… ‘Scandalous,’ Washington agreed, while once again firmly rejecting suggestions that she had been publicly speaking against her bandmates.

“It definitely is scandalous because I’ve said nothing on top of more nothing on top of more nothing. I love the girls.”

The latest twist is especially striking given how brightly the reunion began. After returning for their first performance together in 22 years, the trio went on to stage their huge Wembley show and, in an exclusive interview with That Grape Juice, even discussed the possibility of new music.

For her part, Washington appears keen to draw a distinction between there being no agreed Mis-Teeq plans after Wembley and the suggestion that she personally announced a definitive breakup.

And, amid all the back-and-forth, perhaps the biggest takeaway is that she insists the door isn’t closed.

Whether Dixon and Nash are equally open to stepping through it after this week’s very public confusion is another matter entirely.

For now, Washington’s solo trek moves forward. As for another chapter of Mis-Teeq? Time will tell whether the ladies can get back on the same page and turn their ‘One Night Stand’ into something more.
