Starz has officially ordered 18 episodes of a brand-new prequel series, “Power: Origins,” which will explore the early lives of fan-favorite characters Ghost and Tommy.

This prequel is set to dive deep into the story behind the duo before the events of the original series. While casting for young Ghost and Tommy is still under wraps, it’s been confirmed that Mekai Curtis will reprise his role as a young Kanan Stark, continuing his journey from ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’.

This marks the fourth spinoff in the ever-growing franchise.

Starz’s President of Original Programming, Kathryn Busby, expressed her excitement:

“Our fans have been asking for Ghost and Tommy’s origin story since we first met them in Power  and with the launch of this series, we’re delivering in a big way.”

Adding even more weight to the series, hip-hop mogul 50 Cent is returning as an executive producer.

With casting news and plot details still to come, one thing’s clear: fans are in for a major treat.
