Launching in August 2025, Kava is powered by industry giants Inkblot Studios and Filmhouse Group and promises to deliver over 30 premium titles at launch including post-theatrical exclusives and weekly fresh drops.

Early highlights include ‘Alakada Bad and Boujee,’ crime comedy ‘Owambe Thieves’ starring Zubby Michael and Odunlade Adekola and ‘What About Us’ featuring Kuni Remie. The service aims to become the ultimate hub for Nollywood and African diaspora content, offering everything from drama and rom-coms to action packed thrillers.

With Netflix and Amazon Prime scaling back African originals, Kava steps in to meet skyrocketing demand for authentic African stories. Kava’s co-CEO Chinaza Onuzo says:

“Kava will be the ultimate platform for nurturing and elevating the next generation of Nollywood talent. We’re creating a legitimate space where emerging established filmmakers, actors and creators can showcase their work, thrive on a fair and transparent platform, and gain the global recognition they deserve.”
