Nicki Minaj is pushing back against a lawsuit. The rapper is asking a New York judge to dismiss claims against her personally in a case brought by 24/7 Productions.

The production company alleges it is owed more than $275,000 for work tied to Minaj’s 2023 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball performances and the Pink Friday 2 rollout. The company claims it handled expenses ranging from staffing and lighting to sound and transportation.

Minaj’s attorneys argue she should not be personally liable. They maintain there was never a personal agreement between the rapper and the production company.

Any contractual obligations belong to Pink Friday Productions, the LLC at the center of the dispute, not to her personally.

Under New York law, members of limited liability companies generally enjoy protection from personal liability for business debts. Minaj’s attorneys argue none of the legal exceptions apply here.

The motion does not seek to dismiss the breach-of-contract claims against the company. It asks the court to remove Minaj as an individual defendant while allowing the dispute against Pink Friday Productions to proceed.

If the judge agrees, the lawsuit will continue without Minaj individually named. If the motion is denied, both the rapper and her company will continue to defend the claims.
