Nicki Minaj has responded to a joke from Donald Trump.

As reported, the US President referenced the rapper during his first appearance at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

And it left folk stunned.

Trump joked about a previous dinner that was interrupted by a shooting. Nicki had been scheduled to attend but did not make it. The president said:

“After hearing the gunshots, many people yelled, ‘Get down! Get down!’ Which caused Nicki Minaj to start twerking. Can you believe it? ‘Get down.’ She’s the only one that really understood what that meant.”

Minaj responded on X (formerly Twitter). She posted a photo of a pink-haired Chucky doll with a menacing expression. She wrote:

The femcee has previously supported Trump.

She has praised him publicly and faced backlash from former fans and politicians. Trump has also made flirty comments about her in the past.

The Hip-Hop polarizer did not attend the second dinner either, but it’s clear she lapped it up.
