Erykah Badu and The Alchemist are turning up the heat on their hotly anticipated collaborative project.

The genre-blurring pair have unleashed new single ‘Witch Doctor’ and, with it, finally confirmed when fans can expect their long-gestating joint album.

The duo’s as-yet-untitled collaborative album will arrive digitally on August 28 via Control FREAQ Records and Young Recordings.

For Badu, the release is especially notable. It will serve as her first full-length project since 2015’s ‘But You Caint Use My Phone’ mixtape and her first official studio album since 2010’s ‘New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh).’

Recorded over an 18-month period in Dallas and Los Angeles, the project sees the Neo-Soul pioneer joining creative forces with one of Hip-Hop’s most revered producers.

‘Witch Doctor’ follows previously released cut ‘Next to You’ and the Amazon Music exclusive ‘Echos 19 (mix 122).’

The album’s arrival has been years in the making, making its confirmed release date all the more welcome.

With ‘Witch Doctor’ offering another intriguing taste of what the pair have been cooking up, anticipation is officially in overdrive.
