Netflix is bringing together an all-star lineup for its upcoming original comedy ‘Women Like Us.’

The film stars Whoopi Goldberg, Jenifer Lewis, Vanessa Williams, and Vivica A. Fox as a close-knit group of lifelong friends who embark on an unforgettable trip to the Hamptons.

Tasha Smith will direct the movie, adding to her growing list of directing credits, from an original screenplay by Ali Kinney.

According to the official synopsis, the story follows a recently widowed woman who is persuaded by her lifelong best friends and sister to travel to the Hamptons on what would have been her 30th wedding anniversary.

What begins as a getaway soon becomes an emotional reckoning as the women confront grief, marriage, the enduring bond of sisterhood, and the realization that it’s never too late to chase their dreams.

The film will be produced through a partnership between MACRO Film Studios and Higher Ground, the media company founded by former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama. 

Production on ‘Women Like Us’ is scheduled to begin this fall in New York City.
