Lauren Bennett‘s sudden death remains under investigation.

The British singer, best known for her feature on LMFAO‘s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ and as a member of the group G.R.L., passed away at the age of 36 in late May.

An English Coroner Service opened an investigation into her passing on June 12, which could take months. A formal inquest is scheduled to conclude on October 30.

A private memorial service was held in London in late June and included family and close friends, bandmates from G.R.L., and the group Paradiso Girls among its guests who released balloons with heartfelt messages as a final tribute.

Her former G.R.L. bandmates confirmed her death in a statement on Monday (July 6). They wrote:

“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren. Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us.”

Bennett rose to fame after featuring on LMFAO’s 2011 hit, which spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. She later joined G.R.L., who found success with ‘Ugly Heart‘ and ‘Wild Wild Love.’

The group disbanded after the death of member Simone Battle in 2014.
