Janet Jackson wasn’t kidding when she kicked off 2026 by teasing a “major treat” was in the works.

Six months after announcing intent to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her breakthrough album ‘Control‘ throughout the year, official reports have surfaced the global music icon is putting the final touches on plans to unveil ‘Janet Jackson: Control 40 — The Airtab Music Movie.’

An Airtab Music-filmed production, ‘Janet Jackson: Control 40’ is hailed an “ambitious, cinematic celebration of the music and performances” that will mark a “live celebration of Janet Jackson’s extraordinary career.”

Centered around unforgettable hits from the ‘Control’ album and era including the title track as well as ‘What Have You Done for Me Lately,’ ‘Nasty,’ ‘Let’s Wait Awhile,’ ‘Pleasure Principle,’ and more,the film will also see Jan tackle other fan-favorites from her hit-filled career.

Directed by celebrated filmmaker Leslie Small, the concert movie will also include behind-the-scenes access to invite the Pop diva’s dedicated fans (affectionately called #theJanFam) into an exclusive peek at the making of the magic.

Filming is scheduled for December 12, 2026, at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida; a global theatrical release will follow.
