Max Martin and Shellback have sold a significant portion of their catalog. Specifically, the legendary songwriter-producers partnered with HarbourView Equity Partners in a major deal reportedly worth a jaw-dropping sum.

The transaction involves the publisher’s share of select compositions written by the Wolf Cousins collective and the catalog includes hits by Taylor SwiftAriana GrandeThe WeekndImagine DragonsEllie Goulding, and more.

Standout featured titles include Swift’s ‘Style‘ and ‘…Ready For It?,’ Grande’s ‘Problem‘ and ‘Into You,’ and The Weeknd’s ‘Can’t Feel My Face.’

Sherrese Clarke, founder and CEO of HarbourView, expressed excitement about the partnership. Clarke said:

“At HarbourView, we invest in culturally relevant intellectual property and the visionary creators behind it. Max Martin and Shellback continue to hold their place as hitmakers in contemporary music.”

Martin and Shellback also released a joint statement.

“Wolf Cousins was founded to bring songwriters and producers together in an environment built on collaboration, mentorship and creative development. HarbourView’s long-term vision and respect for creators make them a natural partner.”

Warner Chappell will continue to administer the catalog.

HarbourView has amassed approximately $3.88 billion in assets since 2021. The firm has acquired over 70 catalogs, including works by Quincy JonesKelly Clarkson, and Nelly.

At writing, the specific terms of the Martin and Shellback deal have not been made public, but it’s believed to be in the low nine-figure range.
