Universal Pictures has unleashed an extended trailer for the upcoming animated adventure flick ‘Forgotten Island,’ and this go round we’re getting a deeper look into the island and its inhabitants.

The film focuses on lifelong besties “Jo” and “Raissa,” two high school grads about to embark on separate life paths. While spending their last night together, the duo stumble upon a mystical portal that transports them to the fantastical island Nakali – a land full of magical and mythological creatures they grew up hearing stories about from their respective Filipino families.

When the besties discover that the memories of their entire friendship are the price for returning home, Jo and Raissa must race to find a way to leave the island before they forget each other forever.

The ensemble cast includes real-live actors of Filipino descent including H.E.R. (Jo) and Liza Soberano (Raissa) as well as familiar faces like Dave Franco (Raww), Jenny Slate, Manny Jacinto, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Ronny Chieng, and Lea Salonga (The Dreaded Manananggal).

‘Forgotten Island’ premieres in theaters on September 25.
