‘Disclosure Day’ is almost here, and anticipation is mounting for Steven Spielberg‘s latest blockbuster.

The legendary filmmaker returns to the world of extraterrestrial intrigue with a fresh take on the alien phenomenon, anchored by a star-studded cast that includes Colman Domingo, Emily Blunt, and Josh O’Connor.

That Grape Juice caught up with Spielberg, Domingo, screenwriter David Koepp, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, and Wyatt Russell at the movie’s London premiere, where they opened up about the film’s deeper themes.

For Spielberg, the spectacle is secondary to the human story at the center of the movie.

“It is really first and foremost a movie about these people and what this experience does to them, how it changes them, and as it’s changing them how I hope it will change us, the audience.”

“Ultimately what the film is about is empathy. When you really dig down on what empathy is, it’s about trying to understand how somebody else is feeling or what they’re going through.”

Meanwhile, Domingo praised the director’s vision and the timely message woven throughout the project.

“I think the greater message is how do we come together, how do we see each other, listen to each other, advocate for one another, and not be afraid of the unknown.”

“In an age where we’re all looking to have some sort of human experience, we’re inundated with AI. I want to go somewhere where I can see something with somebody… a good human experience.”
