Marking a full-circle reunion nearly two decades after Cox helped shape the group’s first two albums, the partnership will pave the way for fresh music from the ‘Making the Band’ favorites.

Cox played a major role in Day26’s 2008 self-titled debut, crafting tracks such as ‘Since You’ve Been Gone,’ ‘Don’t Fight the Feeling,’ and ‘Exclusive.’

He returned for their 2009 follow-up, ‘Forever in a Day,’ contributing to ‘So Good,’ ‘Stadium Music,’ ‘Babymaker,’ and ‘Need That’ featuring longtime creative partner, Jermaine Dupri.

Speaking on their reunion, Cox said:

“Day26 and I have a history that goes back to the beginning of their career, so this partnership is a full-circle moment. I have always believed in their talent, their chemistry, and what they represent for R&B groups.”

“We now have an opportunity to build on the foundation we created together while introducing a new chapter that reflects who they are today.”

The group echoed that excitement, pointing to the trust already established during their earliest recording sessions.

“Bryan has been part of the Day26 story since our first album, and the music we created together remains an important part of our legacy.

There is a level of trust, respect, and creative understanding that already exists between us. We are excited to reunite with him, join Illustrate New Ideas, and create a body of work that honors our sound while showing the growth we have experienced as artists and as men.”

The deal follows the group’s 2024 return with ‘Day Ones’ and arrives as momentum continues to build around their comeback.

Their forthcoming album will be released through the freshly relaunched Jive Records, with its lead single and release schedule set to be revealed in due course.

Meanwhile, Cox remains busy in the studio with a stacked roster that includes Kelly Rowland,
