Dave Blunts Shades Lizzo While Praising His Weight Loss Journey: I’m Not Taking Her “Stance” of “Promoting Obesity”

‘The Cup‘ hitmaker Dave Blunts is pouring a little shade the way of Pop hitmaker Lizzo.

Blunts, a morbidly obese rapper who’s garnered press in the past for having to perform with the support of oxygen tanks while sitting on a couch live on stage, is now making headlines for embarking on a highly publicized weight loss journey.

While discussing said transformation with ‘Vlad TV’ recently, the 24-year-old unexpectedly took aim at the 4-time GRAMMY-winning songstress by claiming he’s approaching the journey much differently than she did.

As Vlad congratulated Dave for deciding to embark on a weight loss journey, the host also reflected on how other artists tend to “lean in to” being overweight under the guise of “body positivity.”

“I’ve never came out and said, ‘Yo, being overweight is cool, man. Eat food, n****. Don’t eat your vegetables n****. You see me, I did it,” Blunts said in response while asserting he never promoted obesity. “I’m just a n*** who’s big and I’m making music… I’ve never said it’s cool to be big.”

To further drill his point home, Dave pointed to Lizzo as an example of a person who made being big their identity for all the wrong reasons.

“[I’m not] taking no Lizzo stance,” the rapper relayed before Vlad chimed in to reflect on the backlash Lizzo received for wearing a revealing outfit to an NBA game in 2019.

Blunts’ comments come just three years after overweight comedian Aries Spears also made headlines for taking to the same platform to diss the Pop diva‘s appearance.

Lizzo – who has won ample praise from fans and critics alike for her striking weight loss over the last year – has not publicly responded to Dave’s comments as of time of this report.
