Chris Brown is done with the honor that landed him at the center of a fresh firestorm.

After Texas State Rep. Venton Jones publicly apologized for helping recognize the R&B star during the Arlington stop of the ‘R&B Tour’, Brown has fired back and made clear he no longer wants the award.

As reported earlier today, Jones appeared on ‘The Don Lemon Show’ and apologized to Black women, women, and survivors of domestic violence following criticism of the presentation.

Brown had initially thanked Jasmine Crockett and apologized for any backlash she received after she and Jones took the stage to honor Brown and Usher.

His response to Jones, however, struck a very different chord:

“I don’t want the award anymore my brother. You went on with Don Lemon and started tap dancing. Y’all keep that s***.”

Brown stressed that he never sought out the recognition and accused Jones of apologizing because he did not want to lose voters or support.

The 37-year-old added that his Arlington shows were already sold out before the presentation and said he would rather be left to focus on the fans who paid to see him perform.

Jones’ State of Texas legislative recognition was separate from Crockett’s Congressional Record recognition of Brown and Usher. His subsequent apology acknowledged the criticism surrounding Brown’s history and the impact the ceremony had on domestic violence survivors.
