Chadwick Boseman‘s brothers have launched a dramatic legal bid to remove his widow, Taylor Simone Ledward Boseman, as administrator of the late actor’s estate.

According to TMZ, Kevin Boseman and Derrick Boseman filed court documents accusing Taylor of mismanaging the estate and keeping their family in the dark about its status.

A 2022 court order reportedly awarded Chadwick’s parents, Leroy and Carolyn Boseman, a combined 50% share of the estate, with Taylor receiving the remaining half. The actor died without leaving a will.

His brothers claim several matters remain unresolved, including more than $3 million held across bank accounts, SAG-AFTRA residuals, insurance coverage intended for their mother, unclaimed property, and rights connected to Chadwick’s name and image.

They argue the delays have denied their parents access to funds and prevented the family from pursuing opportunities connected to the celebrated performer’s legacy.

Kevin and Derrick are asking the judge to hold Taylor in contempt, require a full accounting within 30 days, and permanently replace her with attorney Jason Rubin. They also want restrictions placed on any major future contracts involving the estate.

Chadwick died on August 28, 2020, aged 43, following a private four-year battle with colon cancer. His influence continues to be celebrated through his work, including his history-making portrayal of T’Challa in ‘Black Panther’.
