Cardi B is opening up, and she’s not biting her tongue this time.

Ahead of her upcoming album, ‘Am I The Drama?’, the Bronx-bred superstar is opening up about the tensions that have followed her career in the rap game.

During an interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music 1, she addressed the elephant in the room: her public fallouts with fellow female rappers.

She said:

“I just really think I was born with an anointed light. Sometimes the light is great, but it also disturbs people’s peace. It draws people to me, and it’s not always going to be good. That light might bother people … maybe it’s too bright, it’s too loud. It’s always been like this to me.”

The 33-year-old rapper has feuded with many celebrities, such as JT of City Girls, political commentator Candace Owens, and most notably, Nicki Minaj. She’s also traded shots with Offset over the last year as well.

Her long-awaited sophomore album, Am I the Drama?, drops on September 19. The singles, ‘Outside’, as well as ‘Imaginary Playerz’, have been released. 

Either way, one thing is clear: Cardi’s coming back swinging, and she’s making sure the music — not the mess — is front and center.
