Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are back on the beat. Specifically, ‘24 Jump Street’ is officially in development at Sony Pictures.

Rodney Rothman will direct the latest sequel from a script he co-wrote with Hill and Meghan Malloy. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who helmed the first two films, will return as producers alongside Neal H. Moritz.

Ice Cube is also in talks to reprise his role as the gruff Captain Dickson.

No plot details have been shared. However, producer Neal H. Moritz addressed the title on Instagram.

The first two films were major box office successes. ‘21 Jump Street’ surpassed $200 million globally, while ‘22 Jump Street’ collected a colossal $331 million worldwide.

Over the years, there had been talk of a third movie. A potential crossover with ‘Men in Black’ was discussed but ultimately abandoned.

Tatum previously expressed interest in returning. Tatum said back in 2024:

“I would love to see 23 Jump Street. I would love to do it with Jonah, and Jonah I know wants to do it. We would love to just get to go play again.”

The film is based on the 1987 Fox series that ran for five seasons. Johnny Depp, who had a cameo in the first movie, starred in the original show.
